1️⃣ What is the Appendix2 (IREM) Examination?

·        It is a departmental qualifying examination for promotion beyond Accounts Clerks up to Accounts Assistants.

·        Ensures knowledge in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Budget, Stores, Workshop, and Traffic Accounts.

2️⃣ What are the Papers in Appendix–2 Examination?

·        Two mandatory objective papers:

1️⃣ Exemption from Earlier Attempts

Query: 

Some candidates got exemptions in earlier manual papers — like General Rules & Procedures (GRP), Book Keeping, and Optional Subjects. Will those exemptions still be valid for the new Computer Based Test (CBT) pattern?

Answer:

No. Those earlier exemptions will not be valid anymore.

Previously, there were three manual papers (Book Keeping, GRP and Optional).

Now there are only two CBT papers:

1. Elementary Book Keeping + English Comprehension + Reasoning

2. GRP covering all areas.

Hence, earlier exemptions cannot be carried forward.

2️⃣ Duration of Examination

Query:

Earlier, each of the three papers lasted 3 hours. What will be the duration of the new CBT papers?

Answer:

Each CBT paper will be of 2 hours duration, just like the Appendix-III (IREM) exam.
