Strategy for Appendix2 Exam and Appendix3 Exam Candidates

 

Dear Appendix-2 and Appendix-3 Exam Aspirants,

I truly understand your anxiety about the exam date — it’s been a long wait, and your concern is absolutely justified. I’ve received numerous messages expressing this worry. But remember, the exam will definitely happen — sooner or later. There’s no doubt about it. So don’t wait for the date — start your preparation right now!

Both these exams are gateways to a brighter career in Indian Railways. Just imagine — clearing the Appendix-3 Exam and becoming a Senior Section Officer (Accounts) can take you to Grade Pay 5400 within a few years. That’s a remarkable jump from GP 1900 or 2800 to 5400 — equivalent to Senior Scale Gazetted Officers like SPOs or SMMs in other departments.

A common group for Appendix-2 and Appendix-3 aspirants is intentional — because the syllabus overlaps significantly. My advice for Appendix-2 aspirants: prepare at Appendix-3 standard. Once you clear Appendix-2, you’ll find Appendix-3 and LDCE much easier to conquer. 

Passing marks are 45%. But aim higher!
If you score 60% or above in mock exams, confidence begins.
If you reach 80% or more, success is almost certain — you can feel as if you’ve already cleared the real exam!

Keep testing yourself, refine your strategy, and push for 80%+ before the final exam.
Then you’ll face it with confidence, not tension. 

Work hard, stay disciplined, and stay inspired. There is no shortcut to success — only consistent hard work combined with smart strategy.
