🐕 Booking of Dogs in Dog Boxes — Revised Rule

• Source: Revised Para 1008 (b) of the IRCM - Indian Railway Commercial Manual (Freight Marketing Circular No. 20 of 2026

• Object of Dog Box: To ensure safe and comfortable transportation of dogs. 

🔴 Old System: Dogs were to be accommodated in separate dog boxes wherever possible. 

• When two or more dogs had to be accommodated in one dog box, they were to be chained as far apart as possible to prevent fighting. 

• A large dog which could not be accommodated in the dog box had to be booked in a special vehicle at the prescribed rates and conditions.

🟢 New System: Only ONE DOG shall be allowed to be booked and transported in ONE DOG BOX. 

• A large dog which cannot be accommodated in the dog box must be booked in a special vehicle, if any.

💡 Simple Practical Example: Suppose two dogs are presented for booking and only one dog box is available:

Old System: Both dogs could, when necessary, be accommodated in the same dog box

New System: ❌ Two dogs cannot be booked in the same dog box. ✅ One Dog Box = One Dog only. 

🎯 Exam Point: 

Old Rule → Two or more dogs could be accommodated in one dog box when necessary. 

New Rule → Only ONE DOG per DOG BOX.

• डॉग बॉक्स का उद्देश्य: Tकुत्तों के सुरक्षित और आरामदायक परिवहन को सुनिश्चित करना।

🔴 पुरानी प्रणाली:जहां तक ​​संभव हो, कुत्तों को अलग-अलग डॉग बॉक्स में रखा जाना था।

• जब दो या दो से अधिक कुत्तों को एक ही डॉग बॉक्स में रखना होता था, तो उन्हें आपस में लड़ने से रोकने के लिए यथासंभव दूर-दूर जंजीरों से बांधा जाता था।

• एक बड़े कुत्ते को, जिसे डॉग बॉक्स में नहीं रखा जा सकता था, निर्धारित दरों और शर्तों पर एक विशेष वाहन में बुक करना पड़ता था।

🟢 नई प्रणाली:एक डॉग बॉक्स में केवल एक ही कुत्ते को बुक करने और ले जाने की अनुमति होगी।

• अगर कोई बड़ा कुत्ता डॉग बॉक्स में नहीं आ सकता है, तो उसे विशेष वाहन में बुक करना होगा, यदि कोई विशेष वाहन उपलब्ध हो।

💡 सरल व्यावहारिक उदाहरण:मान लीजिए बुकिंग के लिए दो कुत्ते प्रस्तुत किए जाते हैं और केवल एक ही डॉग बॉक्स उपलब्ध है:

पुरानी प्रणाली:आवश्यकता पड़ने पर दोनों कुत्तों को एक ही डॉग बॉक्स में रखा जा सकता है।

नई प्रणाली: ❌ एक ही डॉग बॉक्स में दो कुत्तों की बुकिंग नहीं की जा सकती। ✅ एक डॉग बॉक्स में केवल एक ही कुत्ता रखा जा सकता है।

🎯परीक्षा बिंदु:

पुराना नियम → आवश्यकता पड़ने पर एक ही डॉग बॉक्स में दो या दो से अधिक कुत्तों को रखा जा सकता था।

नया नियम → एक डॉग बॉक्स में केवल एक ही कुत्ता।
