Reservation Quotas in IRCTC

A quota is a specified share of berths earmarked for a particular category of passengers, stations or booking purpose.

•  General Quota (GN): Available to all passengers without any special eligibility. It normally contains the largest share of berths.

•  Ladies Quota (LD): Earmarked mainly for women travelling alone or with children, subject to the prescribed conditions.

•  Lower Berth and Senior Citizen Quota (SS): Lower berths are earmarked for eligible senior citizens, women aged 45 years and above, and pregnant women, subject to availability.

•  Persons with Disability or Divyangjan Quota (HP): Reserved for eligible persons with disabilities and, where permitted, their escorts.

•  Duty Pass Quota (DP): Earmarked for serving Railway employees travelling on authorised Railway duty passes.

•  Tatkal Quota (CK): Intended for passengers requiring travel at short notice. Booking opens shortly before the journey and additional Tatkal charges apply.

•  Premium Tatkal Quota (PT): Available only on selected trains. Its fare increases dynamically according to demand, and concessions are generally not permitted.

•  Pooled Quota (PQ): A common quota shared by passengers travelling between specified intermediate stations.

•  Remote Location Quota (RL): Earmarked for important intermediate stations located away from the train's originating station.

•  Foreign Tourist Quota (FT): Earmarked for eligible foreign tourists, subject to identity-document and booking requirements.

•  Defence Quota (DF): Provided for eligible Defence personnel travelling on authorised warrants or other prescribed documents.

•  Parliament House Quota (PH): Earmarked for Members of Parliament and other eligible persons connected with Parliament.

•  Headquarters or High Official Quota (HO): A limited emergency quota controlled by designated Railway authorities for urgent official or exceptional travel requirements.

•  Yuva Quota (YU): Available on notified trains to eligible unemployed youth, subject to prescribed age and documentary conditions.

Important: The availability and number of berths under each quota vary according to the train, class, boarding station, journey date and Railway allotment.

•सामान्य कोटा (जीएन):बिना किसी विशेष पात्रता के सभी यात्रियों के लिए उपलब्ध। इसमें आमतौर पर सबसे अधिक बर्थ होते हैं।

•महिला कोटा (एलडी):यह सुविधा मुख्य रूप से उन महिलाओं के लिए आरक्षित है जो अकेले या बच्चों के साथ यात्रा कर रही हैं, और निर्धारित शर्तों के अधीन है।

•लोअर बर्थ और वरिष्ठ नागरिक कोटा (एसएस):निचली बर्थें पात्र वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए आरक्षित हैं।45 वर्ष और उससे अधिक आयु की महिलाएं, और प्रेग्नेंट औरत, उपलब्धता का विषय।

•दिव्यांगजन कोटा (हिमाचल प्रदेश):यह सुविधा पात्र दिव्यांग व्यक्तियों और, यदि अनुमति हो, तो उनके साथ आने वाले व्यक्तियों के लिए आरक्षित है।

•ड्यूटी पास कोटा (डीपी):यह सुविधा अधिकृत रेलवे ड्यूटी पास पर यात्रा करने वाले रेलवे कर्मचारियों की सेवा के लिए आरक्षित है।

•Tatkal Quota (CK): यह सुविधा उन यात्रियों के लिए है जिन्हें कम समय में यात्रा करनी होती है। बुकिंग यात्रा से कुछ समय पहले शुरू होती है और तत्काल बुकिंग के लिए अतिरिक्त शुल्क लागू होते हैं।

•Premium Tatkal Quota (PT): यह सुविधा केवल चुनिंदा ट्रेनों में उपलब्ध है। इसकी किराया दर मांग के अनुसार गतिशील रूप से बढ़ती है, और आमतौर पर इसमें कोई छूट नहीं दी जाती है।

•पूल्ड कोटा (पीक्यू):निर्दिष्ट मध्यवर्ती स्टेशनों के बीच यात्रा करने वाले यात्रियों द्वारा साझा किया जाने वाला एक सामान्य कोटा।

•दूरस्थ स्थान कोटा (आरएल):यह राशि उन महत्वपूर्ण मध्यवर्ती स्टेशनों के लिए आरक्षित है जो ट्रेन के आरंभिक स्टेशन से दूर स्थित हैं।

•विदेशी पर्यटक कोटा (एफटी):यह सुविधा पात्र विदेशी पर्यटकों के लिए आरक्षित है, जिसके लिए पहचान पत्र और बुकिंग संबंधी आवश्यकताओं का पालन करना होगा।

•रक्षा कोटा (डीएफ):अधिकृत वारंट या अन्य निर्धारित दस्तावेजों पर यात्रा करने वाले पात्र रक्षा कर्मियों के लिए प्रावधान किया गया है।

•संसद भवन कोटा (पीएच):संसद सदस्यों और संसद से जुड़े अन्य पात्र व्यक्तियों के लिए आरक्षित।

•मुख्यालय या उच्च अधिकारी कोटा (एचओ):तत्काल आधिकारिक या असाधारण यात्रा आवश्यकताओं के लिए नामित रेलवे अधिकारियों द्वारा नियंत्रित एक सीमित आपातकालीन कोटा।

•युवा कोटा (वाईयू):निर्धारित आयु और दस्तावेजी शर्तों के अधीन, पात्र बेरोजगार युवाओं के लिए अधिसूचित ट्रेनों में यह सुविधा उपलब्ध है।

महत्वपूर्ण: प्रत्येक कोटे के अंतर्गत उपलब्ध बर्थों की संख्या और उपलब्धता ट्रेन, श्रेणी, बोर्डिंग स्टेशन, यात्रा की तिथि और रेलवे आवंटन के अनुसार भिन्न-भिन्न होती है।
