PRCP - Companion facility

 

A companion is permitted in lieu of an attendant to eligible senior citizen holders of First Class or First A Post Retirement Complimentary Passes, subject to the prescribed conditions.

                            Eligibility and Fare Conditions

Age category	Companion facility	Higher class travel
65 years and above	An eligible retired Railway employee holding a First Class or First A PRCP may take one companion. Normally, the companion travels in Sleeper Class or Second Class.	If the companion travels with the pass holder in the higher class, the full difference of fare is payable.
70 years and above	An eligible retired Railway employee or widow holding a First Class or First A PRCP or Widow Pass may take a companion.	The companion may travel in the same higher class on payment of one third of the fare difference, subject to the prescribed conditions.

Family-member restriction: If another eligible family member below 65 years is included in the pass, the normal senior citizen companion facility is restricted. A specific exception applies to an eligible son or daughter with the prescribed disability.

 

Practical Example

 

Assume the fare difference between Sleeper Class and First AC is ₹2,400 for the journey. This illustration explains only the fare difference payable.

 

·     Case 1  Pass holder aged 67: The companion travels with the pass holder in First AC. The full fare difference is payable: ₹2,400.

 

·     Case 2  Pass holder aged 72: The companion travels with the pass holder in First AC. One third of the fare difference is payable: ₹2,400 ÷ 3 = ₹800.

पात्र वरिष्ठ नागरिक धारकों के लिए परिचारक के स्थान पर एक साथी की अनुमति है।सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद प्रथम श्रेणी या प्रथम श्रेणी के मानार्थ पासनिर्धारित शर्तों के अधीन।

65 वर्ष और उससे अधिक	प्रथम श्रेणी या प्रथम श्रेणी का पीआरसीपी रखने वाला पात्र सेवानिवृत्त रेलवे कर्मचारी अपने साथ एक सहयात्री को ले जा सकता है। सामान्यतः, सहयात्री स्लीपर श्रेणी या द्वितीय श्रेणी में यात्रा करता है।	यदि सहयात्री पास धारक के साथ उच्च श्रेणी में यात्रा करता है,किराए का पूरा अंतर देय है।
70 वर्ष और उससे अधिक	एक पात्र सेवानिवृत्त रेलवे कर्मचारी या विधवा जिसके पास प्रथम श्रेणी या प्रथम श्रेणी का पीआरसीपी या विधवा पास है, अपने साथ एक साथी को ले जा सकती है।	सहयात्री भुगतान करके उसी उच्च श्रेणी में यात्रा कर सकता है। किराए के अंतर का एक तिहाई हिस्सा,निर्धारित शर्तों के अधीन।

परिवार के सदस्य पर प्रतिबंध:यदि पास में 65 वर्ष से कम आयु का कोई अन्य पात्र पारिवारिक सदस्य शामिल है, तो वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए उपलब्ध सामान्य सहचर सुविधा प्रतिबंधित हो जाती है। निर्धारित विकलांगता वाले पात्र पुत्र या पुत्री के मामले में एक विशेष अपवाद लागू होता है।

व्यावहारिक उदाहरण

 

मान लीजिए कि स्लीपर क्लास और फर्स्ट एसी के बीच यात्रा के किराए में ₹2,400 का अंतर है।यह उदाहरण केवल देय किराए के अंतर को दर्शाता है।

 

·     मामला 1: 67 वर्ष की आयु का पास धारक:सहयात्री पास धारक के साथ प्रथम श्रेणी में यात्रा करता है। किराए का पूरा अंतर देय है: ₹2,400।

 

·     मामला 2: 72 वर्ष की आयु का पास धारक:सहयात्री पास धारक के साथ प्रथम श्रेणी में यात्रा करता है। किराए के अंतर का एक तिहाई देय है: ₹2,400 ÷ 3 = ₹800।
